Aidan’s Progress

Aidan Rosser,  cant have an operation to make him better,

Aidan is known as a SWAN, Sydromes Without A Name.

Aidan cant tell us how he feels but in our hearts I know he knows that we are helping to find answers.  Being a parent is the most important job you will ever do, it’s the most joyful things in life, watching children develop and grow, but when your child cant do the normal things in life, it plays on your mind, as you feel helpless.

Aidan’s Brothers always ask when can Aidan kick a ball with us? As parents we don’t know the answer, we just live in hope. As a dad of a Swan child I would like to raise the awareness of Aidans condition and urge any other families in South Wales to get in touch. Around 40% of Children in the UK have an undiagnosed condition, Aidan cant Walk, Talk,Crawl or sit.

Aidan will be 3 in May, He has a healthy diet as he now eats food, however he has cronic pain dayly when wanting to go to the toilet. He has pain so severe that he sweats and screams, all we can do is comfort him, the doctors say its constipation, however as parents we would like a referral as we feel different. Whilst we wait to be referred we don’t really know how long we will be waiting Aidan will have to put up with the dayly pains.

Aidan will be starting in Penllergaer school in September, as he cant go to the school his brothers and sister go to in Sketty because of his needs.

As a family you sometimes feel isolated, worried and anxious for Aidan. Over the past 5 months we have had some great fundraising to help purchase vital equipment for aidan to aid his development, we also need to provide private physio and therapy for Aidan because of his low tone, this all comes at a cost, without fundraising  activity we woudnt be able to fulfil Aidans development.

We have also had great help from businesses that have put a collection box by their till points for Aidan, Shillingfords in Neath have really helped and supported Aidan, Playfootball in Swansea have helped with a charity box and Gower heritage centre have also helped with a charity box and continue to help sell Charity wrist bands for Aidan. Swansea lions club have donated £100 big thanks for their support.

The Grape & Olive have been a great help they have supported us with a Charity auction evening and 3 course meal on 14th July this is a ticket only event and we have 10 tickets left.

Carl from Elite Charity signings has been massive support he has great compassion for Aidan has helped a great deal, especially arranging a Bike ride out on May 20th from Fabian way, please see Aidans rideout page on facebook for more info.

There are so many people to thank especially Aidans 276 facebook followers.

The recent progress for Aidan is that we are on a genetic alliance waiting list, to send swobs and samples to Romania to get a possible diagnosis, As aidan grows his smile gets bigger, however we need to get a diagnosis to plan for the future there has to be an answer out there somewhere.
